Terms of Service

Last updated: August 27, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of testimonyhouse.org and any course, book, merchandise, or content offered by Testimony House Ministry (“Testimony House,” “we,” “us”). By using the Site or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

Not a Substitute for Professional Help

Testimony House shares real stories of transformation and offers faith-based courses and content related to addiction, family, and discipleship. Nothing on this Site is a substitute for professional medical, mental health, legal, or financial advice, and our content is not a crisis service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health crisis, please call or text 988(the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. If you disclose a crisis to us through a testimony or contact form, we will try to respond with care, but we cannot guarantee an immediate response and are not a substitute for emergency services.

Accounts & Course Access

Some content requires a free account (managed through our authentication provider, Clerk) to access, such as a course you've purchased online. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account — contact us right away if you believe your account has been compromised. In-person course sign-up doesn't require an account, and is subject to available capacity for that session. Some in-person courses are free; others carry a fee, which will be clearly stated when you sign up.

Purchases & Payment

We sell online course access, printed books, and (when available) merchandise through Stripe. Prices are listed in U.S. dollars and may include applicable sales tax, calculated at checkout. By making a purchase, you confirm that the payment information you provide is accurate and that you're authorized to use the payment method. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order — for example, in the case of a pricing error or suspected fraud — in which case we'll refund any amount already charged.

Refunds & Returns

Online course access:If you're not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we'll issue a full refund, provided you haven't attended or completed more than one lesson. Once you've attended more than one lesson, we're not able to offer a refund.

Books and merchandise:If an item arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 14 days of delivery for a replacement or refund. Because these are physical goods, we're not able to offer refunds for a simple change of mind once an item has shipped, but reach out — we want you to be taken care of.

In-person courses:If there's no fee for the course, you're welcome to cancel your registration at any time to free up your spot for someone else. If there is a fee, contact us before the course begins for a full refund. Once you've attended more than one session, we're not able to offer a refund.

Testimonies & Submitted Content

If you submit a testimony, interview request, or other content to us, you confirm it's true and your own to share, and you grant Testimony House a non-exclusive, sublicensable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, edit, publish, and distribute it (in whole or in part) across our Site and other ministry channels (such as YouTube), for as long as reasonably necessary for that purpose. We review all submissions before publishing and are under no obligation to publish any particular submission. Unlike some platforms, we don't consider this license irrevocable — you may ask us to remove a published testimony at any time, and we will.

Content Guidelines & Community Standards

Testimony House exists to share real stories from a Christian perspective, with care for the people telling them. When you submit or interact with content on the Site, please:

  • Keep language respectful — no vulgarity, harassment, or hateful content
  • Don't impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
  • Don't share another person's private information without their consent
  • Don't offer medical, legal, or crisis-counseling advice to other users — if you're moved to help someone, encourage them to reach out to us or to a qualified professional directly

We review submitted content but can't pre-screen everything instantly, and we're not responsible for the accuracy of other users' stories or opinions. We reserve the right to remove any content, or restrict access to the Site, for anyone who doesn't follow these guidelines.

User Safety

If a testimony is published with your name, that name becomes publicly visible on the Site and anywhere we share it. Think carefully about what personal details you include before submitting. The Site doesn't provide a way for other visitors to contact you directly — if someone claiming to represent Testimony House asks you for money or sensitive personal information outside of our official checkout process, please contact us to verify before responding.

Acceptable Use

In addition to the content guidelines above, you agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, other users' accounts, or our systems
  • Copy, resell, or redistribute paid course content without our permission
  • Interfere with the Site's normal operation (e.g. through malicious code or automated scraping)

Intellectual Property

Course content, videos, written materials, and the Site's design and branding belong to Testimony House or our licensors, and are provided for your personal, non-commercial use only. Purchasing a course or book gives you a personal license to access and use that content — it doesn't transfer ownership or the right to redistribute it.

Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, contact us through our contact pagewith a description of the work, its location on the Site, and your contact information, and we'll look into it promptly.

Third-Party Services & Links

The Site uses and links to third-party services — including Stripe (payments), Clerk (accounts), YouTube (video), and Subsplash (donations). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies, not ours, and we're not responsible for their content or practices.

Disclaimers

The Site and its content are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee the Site will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Testimony House and its staff and volunteers won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or any course, book, or content we provide. Our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that purchase.

Resolving Disputes

If a disagreement comes up, we'd genuinely rather work it out directly — please contact us first and give us a chance to make it right. If we can't resolve something informally within 60 days, any claim will be governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, and brought in the state or federal courts located in St. Charles County, Missouri.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
